Anna est une jeune new-yorkaise au pass\u00e9 compliqu\u00e9. En plein divorce houleux, celle qui publiait des best sellers il y a peu, n\u2019arrive plus \u00e0 \u00e9crire. En achetant une maison dans le Vermont. Elle esp\u00e8re retrouver l\u2019inspiration. Elle fait alors la connaissance de Ethan, son voisin tr\u00e8s sexy mais terriblement arrogant. S\u2019ajoute \u00e0 cela, le harc\u00e8lement qu\u2019elle subit de la part de son ex-mari.
<\/p>

Ethan \u2018\u2019Tiger\u2019\u2019 Reynolds est membre d\u2019une unit\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9lite ultra secr\u00e8te. Sniper qui ne rate jamais sa cible, il risque sa vie quotidiennement. C\u00e9libataire convoit\u00e9, solitaire, il ne vit que pour ses missions et ses fr\u00e8res d\u2019armes, Ice, Rider, Shadow et Storm.

C\u2019est marrant parce que, autant j\u2019aime beaucoup les romances militaires, autant je n\u2019en lis pas souvent. Ici, nous avons tous les ingr\u00e9dients r\u00e9unis pour une romance addictive. 5 mecs canons, \u00e9duqu\u00e9s, bons dans leur domaine, avec des valeurs et un c\u0153ur en or. C\u2019est clairement la base de toute romance. Donc, en soit, rien de nouveau sous le soleil. Mais franchement, j\u2019ai bouff\u00e9 ce roman en 2 jours. Je l\u2019aurai m\u00eame lu d\u2019une traite si je n\u2019avais pas \u00e9t\u00e9 au boulot.

Le premier chapitre d\u00e9marre fort, avec Tiger en pleine mission. Deux pages lues et j\u2019\u00e9tais d\u00e9j\u00e0 in love de ce militaire \u00e0 l\u2019ego d\u00e9mesur\u00e9. J\u2019adore ce genre de personnage. Ses relations avec ses co\u00e9quipiers sont empreintes d\u2019amiti\u00e9 sinc\u00e8re, d\u2019humour et de fraternit\u00e9, ce qui en fait un personnage facile \u00e0 aimer.

Anna, elle, m\u2019a laiss\u00e9 assez indiff\u00e9rente. Attention, le personnage est int\u00e9ressant. Elle est forte et fragile \u00e0 la fois, coh\u00e9rente dans sa fa\u00e7on d\u2019\u00eatre mais les gar\u00e7ons prennent toute la place de ce roman. En tout cas, \u00e0 mes yeux. C\u2019est vraiment ce que je retiens de ce premier tome. L\u2019h\u00e9ro\u00efne elle-m\u00eame est rel\u00e9gu\u00e9e au second plan tant les militaires sont charismatiques.

La rencontre entre Tiger et Anna est forc\u00e9ment houleuse, mais surtout, elle est tr\u00e8s bien amen\u00e9e. L\u2019auteure travaille le d\u00e9tail-cr\u00e9dibilit\u00e9 \u00e0 la perfection et j\u2019ai adh\u00e9r\u00e9 imm\u00e9diatement \u00e0 l\u2019histoire. Je savais, \u00e0 partir de ce moment l\u00e0, que j\u2019allais lire une romance originale et bien \u00e9crite.

Le caract\u00e8re des personnages est \u00e9galement bien travaill\u00e9. J\u2019ai aim\u00e9 ce groupe de m\u00e2les alpha, leurs personnalit\u00e9s. Tous les passages qui inclus le groupe sentent la testost\u00e9rone et la ma\u00eetrise du danger. Du coup, en \u00e9crivant cette chronique, je me rends compte que je n\u2019ai pas aim\u00e9 UN personnage. Je les ai TOUS aim\u00e9. J\u2019aurai eu la s\u00e9rie entre les mains, je les auraient encha\u00een\u00e9 les uns apr\u00e8s les autres. L\u2019auteure nous oblige \u00e0 nous attacher \u00e0 eux \u00e0 l\u2019aide de son impertinence, de son \u00e9criture simple mais terriblement efficace. Le socle de la romance de base est respect\u00e9 et commun, mais l\u2019auteure se d\u00e9marque par son originalit\u00e9 et son souci du d\u00e9tail. Les sc\u00e8nes de sexe sont \u00e9pic\u00e9es mais temp\u00e8rent une retenue bienvenue, en fait et en font des moments suffisants et complets.

Il faut quand m\u00eame que je te parle de l\u2019intrigue, hein ! Donc, on sait que Anna est en plein divorce et que son mari la harc\u00e8le. Je ne t\u2019en dis pas plus, au risque de te spoiler, mais sache que Tiger va prendre les choses en main et que l\u2019\u00e9quipe va faire bloc autour du couple. Et l\u00e0 encore, j\u2019ai adh\u00e9r\u00e9. J\u2019ai tourn\u00e9 les pages sans m\u2019en rendre compte, en esp\u00e9rant un d\u00e9nouement heureux. Et l\u00e0 encore, l\u2019auteure est l\u00e0 ou on ne l\u2019attend pas, m\u00eame si une partie de l\u2019action est t\u00e9l\u00e9phon\u00e9e. Parce que tout est millim\u00e9tr\u00e9, tellement bien \u00e9crit que le commun devient incroyable. Et la fin\u2026 que dire\u2026 j\u2019ai eu peur. Parce que, \u00e0 nouveau, la cr\u00e9dibilit\u00e9 entre le d\u00e9roul\u00e9 de ce roman, des sc\u00e8nes entre le couple et l\u2019intrigue en elle-m\u00eame, n\u00e9cessitait d\u2019\u00e9crire la fin pens\u00e9e par l\u2019auteure.

En r\u00e9sum\u00e9, il n\u2019y a rien \u00e0 jeter, dans ce roman. L\u2019auteure utilise une base de romance lambda et en fait un roman impossible \u00e0 l\u00e2cher, men\u00e9 par un groupe de militaires qu\u2019on aimerait rencontrer dans la vraie vie. J\u2019esp\u00e8re avoir l\u2019opportunit\u00e9 de d\u00e9couvrir les 4 autres tomes, le tome 2 \u00e9tant ax\u00e9 sur Ice, le chef de groupe.
