Les for\u00eats du Montana referment bien des secrets, et Red est d\u00e9termin\u00e9 \u00e0 faire toute la lumi\u00e8re sur la mort de Johanna, une jeune femme assassin\u00e9e il y a 3 ans et dont le meurtrier n\u2019a jamais \u00e9t\u00e9 retrouv\u00e9. Pour cela, il va devoir approcher son fr\u00e8re, Wolfgang, un homme taciturne et diablement sexy.


Red Hood est un jeune agent de police. Fra\u00eechement d\u00e9barqu\u00e9 de Chicago, pour prendre le poste de sh\u00e9rif adjoint dans sa ville natale du Montana, Blackwood, il tente de reprendre sa vie en main. Apr\u00e8s un drame personnel et sa s\u00e9paration d\u2019avec son compagnon, il esp\u00e8re apaiser son c\u0153ur.

Wolfgang Muller est un homme bris\u00e9. Injustement accus\u00e9 du meurtre de sa s\u0153ur, Johanna, il est craint et rejet\u00e9 par les habitants de Blackwood. Vivant seul avec ses chiens, dans une maison \u00e0 la lisi\u00e8re de la for\u00eat, il s\u2019est jur\u00e9 de retrouver le meurtrier. Mais c\u2019\u00e9tait sans compter l\u2019arriv\u00e9e du nouveau sh\u00e9rif adjoint.

Nouvelle p\u00e9pite litt\u00e9raire.

\u00c7a devient une habitude, vous allez me dire. J\u2019aime tellement l\u2019\u00e9criture et les univers de ce duo, et ce nouveau roman ne d\u00e9roge pas \u00e0 la r\u00e8gle.

Red Hood revient \u00e0 Blackwood. A 25 ans, il a besoin d\u2019une pause dans sa vie, apr\u00e8s un drame et une rupture. Mais revenir veut dire affronter les d\u00e9mons du pass\u00e9 et cela passe par une confrontation avec Maddy, sa grand-m\u00e8re am\u00e9rindienne. J\u2019ai beaucoup aim\u00e9 leur relation. Lui, g\u00ean\u00e9 par son absence et ses silences et elle, un peu rustre, mais tr\u00e8s maternelle. Elle est consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme une chamade par la population et j\u2019ai trouv\u00e9 que les auteurs avaient su cr\u00e9er une ambiance un peu mystique, un peu magique et leurs interactions \u00e9taient tr\u00e8s agr\u00e9ables.

L\u2019histoire de ce roman est juste dingue. Un bon polar \u00e0 la sauce am\u00e9ricaine, ponctu\u00e9 de myst\u00e8re, de r\u00e9v\u00e9lations, de sexe, d\u2019action, de r\u00e9demption aussi. Tout est coh\u00e9rent, cadenc\u00e9. La chronologie des faits est respect\u00e9e et la tension monte d\u2019un cran \u00e0 chaque \u00e9tape de l\u2019enqu\u00eate, et \u00e7a m\u2019a compl\u00e8tement envo\u00fbt\u00e9e.

Red est un personnage tr\u00e8s structur\u00e9. Cart\u00e9sien malgr\u00e9 ses origines am\u00e9rindiennes et les activit\u00e9s de sa grand-m\u00e8re, son pass\u00e9 l\u2019a un peu marqu\u00e9 mais surtout, sa condition de flic l\u2019aide \u00e0 garder les pieds sur Terre. Il est r\u00e9fl\u00e9chi, honn\u00eate et droit. Il n\u2019h\u00e9site pas \u00e0 tenir t\u00eate \u00e0 ses coll\u00e8gues ou \u00e0 arrondir les angles avec certains villageois. J\u2019ai ador\u00e9 ce personnage, dans sa globalit\u00e9.

Wolfgang est mon personnage pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9. Vraiment, j\u2019ai aim\u00e9 cet ours, qui est vent debout contre toute une ville qui le d\u00e9nigre et le rejette. Il faut une force de caract\u00e8re incroyable pour rester \u00e0 un endroit o\u00f9 on en veut pas de vous et j\u2019ai eu \u00e9norm\u00e9ment d\u2019affection pour lui, beaucoup d\u2019empathie. Toute la construction du personnage et de son environnement a contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 m\u2019attacher \u00e0 lui. Avant que Red ne tisse des liens avec lui, je le sentais au bord de la rupture. La mort violente de sa s\u0153ur et le fait que Red reprenne l\u2019enqu\u00eate vont \u00eatre le point de d\u00e9part d\u2019une histoire d\u2019amour qui m\u2019a transport\u00e9e et d\u2019une enqu\u00eate polici\u00e8re addictive.

Je me r\u00e9p\u00e8te mais vraiment, ces deux auteurs ont une qualit\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9criture ind\u00e9niable et une capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 me transporter dans leur monde sans aucune difficult\u00e9. Une tonne de rebondissements est \u00e0 pr\u00e9voir, \u00e0 travers des d\u00e9tails distill\u00e9s avec parcimonie, qui m\u2019ont permise de d\u00e9couvrir bien des secrets ! Ce roman est une histoire d\u2019amour intense entre deux hommes bless\u00e9s mais qui se compl\u00e8tent.
