Mathilde a tout quitt\u00e9 pour suivre Gaetano chez lui, en Espagne. Mais celui-ci doit repartir courir les corridas et Mathilde se retrouve toute seule. Si elle se rapproche d\u2019Estrella, la s\u0153ur de Gaetano, elle s\u2019accroche r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement avec Sarah, qu\u2019elle surnomme la Beldoche. Un jour, Mathilde se rend compte que Sarah fait des recherches sur un tr\u00e9sor perdu. Elle commence \u00e0 fouiller.

Si le tome 1 avait \u00e9t\u00e9 une belle surprise, ce n\u2019est malheureusement pas le cas du tome 2.

Mathilde a quitt\u00e9 son Languedoc, ses chevaux et la France, pour suivre Gaetano en Espagne. Ils logent chez Rafael, le p\u00e8re de Gaetano. Dans cette maison, vivent \u00e9galement Estrella, la s\u0153ur du tor\u00e9ro et Sarah, la seconde \u00e9pouse de Rafael. Tr\u00e8s vite, Gaetano repart et les premiers doutes s\u2019installent. Mathilde s\u2019ennuie, peine \u00e0 s\u2019acclimater et ne conna\u00eet personne. Ses relations avec les deux femmes de la maison sont tendues, et elle se demande si elle a prit la bonne d\u00e9cision. Au fil des jours, Gaetano appelle r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement \u00e0 la maison, pour prendre des nouvelles mais aussi pour repousser toujours sa date de retour. Si, dans le tome 1, j\u2019avais aim\u00e9 Mathilde et sa fougue, dans cet opus, je l\u2019ai trouv\u00e9e immature, geignarde et boudeuse. Une vraie gamine ! Elle r\u00e2le constamment apr\u00e8s Gaetano, qui enchaine les prestations pour gagner en visibilit\u00e9 et elle ne fait que se plaindre de ses absences. Lorsqu\u2019il rentre lard\u00e9 de coups et de blessures, s\u2019en est trop pour Mathilde ! Mais Gaetano a bien compris que le sexe apaise sa compagne, m\u00eame elle le fera ramer au d\u00e9but. J\u2019avais fait ce m\u00eame constat d\u00e9j\u00e0 sur le tome 1, malgr\u00e9 le fait que les sc\u00e8nes \u00e9rotiques sont un peu moins pr\u00e9sentes dans le tome 2.

Rafael, qui a conscience du potentiel de Mathilde avec les chevaux, lui propose de s\u2019occuper des leurs, ce qu\u2019elle fait avec plaisir. C\u2019\u00e9tait agr\u00e9able de s\u2019immiscer dans la peau de quelqu\u2019un qui panse et entra\u00eene des chevaux mais certains passages ont tra\u00een\u00e9s en longueur et m\u2019ont perdue \u00e0 un moment. Cependant, j\u2019ai pris conscience de la difficult\u00e9 de Mathilde \u00e0 s\u2019int\u00e9grer dans un nouvel environnement, surtout lorsqu\u2019une partie du personnel se montre hostile, et que l\u2019on a personne \u00e0 qui parler.

Au milieu de tout cela, nous d\u00e9couvrons Sarah qui farfouille dans les archives de la ville, \u00e0 priori \u00e0 la recherche d\u2019un tr\u00e9sor perdu. J\u2019ai aim\u00e9 cette partie, qui d\u00e9voile un peu d\u2019histoire espagnole mais surtout, qui appuie le c\u00f4t\u00e9 v\u00e9nal de la belle-m\u00e8re de Mathilde, d\u00e9j\u00e0 assez d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 dans le tome 1. Elle devient d\u00e9sagr\u00e9able avec Rafael, pousse Mathilde \u00e0 la jalousie lorsque Gaetano est en tourn\u00e9e, on la sent avide d\u2019argent. Nous d\u00e9couvrirons d\u2019ailleurs, l\u2019\u00e9tat des finances de l\u2019hacienda.

Mathilde a re\u00e7u de sa s\u0153ur, des lettres d\u2019amour adress\u00e9es (ou pas) \u00e0 leur arri\u00e8re grand m\u00e8re. J\u2019ai ador\u00e9 ces moments de complicit\u00e9 avec Estrella, que Mathilde a charg\u00e9 de traduire pour elle, sa compr\u00e9hension de l\u2019espagnol \u00e9tant encore trop l\u00e9g\u00e8re. C\u2019\u00e9tait grisant et intimiste de d\u00e9couvrir ce qu\u2019elles contenaient et j\u2019ai aim\u00e9 que Estrella s\u2019ouvre un peu \u00e0 Mathilde. Elles d\u00e9veloppent une vraie complicit\u00e9 et j\u2019\u00e9tais ravie qu\u2019elles se soient trouv\u00e9es. J\u2019ai aussi beaucoup appr\u00e9ci\u00e9 cette qu\u00eate de ses origines qu\u2019\u00e0 entreprit Mathilde, gr\u00e2ce aux lettres.

Un deuxi\u00e8me homme fait son apparition, sous les traits de Mark Allen, australien canon aux yeux bleus. Il m\u2019a tout de suite exasp\u00e9r\u00e9, ou plut\u00f4t, le fait que Mathilde soit troubl\u00e9e par lui m\u2019a agac\u00e9e. Elle ne cesse de faire des reproches \u00e0 Gaetano, \u00eatre jalouse mais \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 de cela, se laisse troubler par un \u00e9tranger antipathique. Et on sait tous comment cela se termine dans les romans..

L\u2019\u00e9criture de l\u2019auteure est toujours aussi l\u00e9g\u00e8re et pr\u00e9cise, fluide et agr\u00e9able. Un travail de recherches ou de grandes connaissances ont appuy\u00e9s ce texte et m\u00eame si c\u2019est une lecture en demie-teinte pour moi, il est n\u00e9cessaire de reconna\u00eetre le travail de l\u2019auteure.
